Odysseus vs the Sirens

Odysseus… Odysseus… Don’t listen. Too late. Three shadows rising from the black Three voices calling from the waves I feel their eyes upon my back I hear the names of all the graves They know the battles I have won They know the blood upon my hands They know the face of everyone I left behind in foreign lands They sing of Ithaca, they sing of home… They sing as if, , they’ve always known… Come closer, come below… We know your heart, we know your soul… Come… Come… COME… Ahhhhhhh… Come to us… Come to us… Ahhhhhhh… Fall to us… Fall to us… We know the road you have forgotten We know the home you left behind Lay down your sword, Release your mind… Close your eyes, And cross the line… We will show you Ithaca, We will show you death… We are the song, That you will never forget… Ooooooh… Stay… Stay… Stay… I tied my body to the mast But I cannot tie my mind The ropes are cutting through my skin Their voices cut much deeper inside My men are deaf… My men are blind… But I can hear What they cannot find… The voice of my mother The voice of my son The voice of the woman I left when I ran I hear my own name I hear my own past And every promise Sounds like my last You want to see your mother… You want to see your son… You want to hold Penelope… You want to undo what you’ve done… Come home… Ahhhhhhh… Come to us… Come to us… Ahhhhhhh… Fall to us… Fall to us… We know the road you have forgotten, we know the home you left behind Lay down your sword, release your mind… Close your eyes, And cross the line, We will show you Ithaca, we will show you death… We are the song, That you will never forget… You are not gods… No, we are worse! COME TO US!, COME BELOW! WE KNOW YOUR NAME!, WE KNOW YOUR PAIN! WE KNOW THE MAN YOU LEFT BEHIND! ODYSSEUS!, CLOSE YOUR EYES! FORGET THE SUN!, FORGET THE SEA!
