Το NABUCO (THE MAN WHO BUILT PARADISE)
Τι αξία έχει μια αυτοκρατορία όταν ο άνθρωπος για τον οποίο τη χτίζεις εξακολουθεί να κοιτάζει αλλού;
“Every stone a prayer.
Every garden a crime.”

I walked through fire to reach the river's edge
I carved my name into the desert stone
Ten thousand soldiers sworn upon my blade
I built a kingdom out of blood and bone
I conquered nations, turned their gods to dust
I burned Jerusalem to ash and sand
And yet at night I knelt before one face
The only thing I could not command
She missed the mountains
She missed the rain
So I raised the sky
To ease her pain
I built paradise
On the ruins of a world
I gave her heaven
While the nations burned
Every stone a prayer
Every garden a crime
I was the king
Who could not buy back time
The cedar walls rose higher than the gods
The water ran through channels carved in gold
But she would stand at dawn and face the east
With eyes that held a grief I'd never know
What good is empire when your queen weeps still
What use is glory when love turns to stone
I gave her Babylon
She gave me silence
And I ruled the world
Completely alone
She missed the mountains
She missed the green
I moved the earth
For a vanishing dream
I built paradise
On the ruins of a world
I gave her heaven
While the nations burned
Every stone a prayer
Every garden a crime
I was the king
Who could not buy back time
They will remember the gardens
They will forget the exile
They will remember the walls
They will forget the weeping
History is written by the ones
Who never loved in ruins
I built paradise
On the graves of the world
I gave her heaven
While everything burned
Every stone a prayer
Every garden a crime
I was the king
Who could not buy back time
