Μια Southern Gothic blues ιστορία για έναν μουσικό που φτάνει σ’ ένα σταυροδρόμι αναζητώντας το χάρισμα που θα αλλάξει τη ζωή του. Εκεί συναντά τον Διάβολο και, χωρίς να σταθεί στις λεπτομέρειες της συμφωνίας, ανταλλάσσει κάτι πολύ μεγαλύτερο απ’ όσο καταλαβαίνει για τη μουσική που πάντα ονειρευόταν να παίξει. Από εκείνη τη νύχτα κάθε νότα του καίει, κάθε τραγούδι κουβαλά κάτι ξένο και μια σκιά τον ακολουθεί όπου κι αν πάει. Γιατί όταν το ταλέντο αποκτάται με δανεικό τίμημα, αργά ή γρήγορα ο πραγματικός ιδιοκτήτης επιστρέφει.
